Ellsworth was my first and
only SAC base. While stationed at a SAC base, you had
to be ready to go and do
on minutes notice. SAC was not only B52 bombers but
they also dealt with Minute
Man Missiles.
No matter how cold it got
the AP (Air Police) had to guard the runway and the B52.
