Life of  an Air Force Airman

Karn J. Elder, TSgt, USAF Retired

NAHA AFB, OKINAWA

Naha was a MAC base.  During the time I was there the biggest thought was
supporting Viet Nam.  I was assigned to the Det #2, 11th Air Postal Squadron
and the way we supported the men in Viet Nam was their mail.  We tried to get
mail in and out in the same day.

The terminal was the gateway to Okinawa no matter if you were a civilian or military.
        This was the gateway.

The men in the picture are from the postal detachment stationed on Okinawa.  Our duties
were to handle all mail for Okinawa and Viet Nam.   We handled all incoming and out
going mail on a one day basis.
